Stock Market Starters Blog/Investing Series!

Over the next few weeks, I am going to be making a video series on how to invest in depth. I am going to be looking at fundamentals, company financials, how to understand what you are looking at in key financial ratios, and how I approach entering my investments.

I realized that I have been doing a lot of trading in my example account, but I have not been doing a lot of investing. I created Stock Market Starters to show people how to get started in both trading and investing, and I want to get back to the heart of that.

So my first step towards that goal was to update my trading plan. I created a new trading plan that will allow me to invest more even when the markets are moving down... which is the better time to be investing because stocks can be purchased at a discount as they drop.

Here is the video I made talking through my updated trading Plan:

The next thing for me to do is to find some companies that I want to look at potentially investing in. I wanted to look mostly at some well-established companies that have been dropping with the market recently. I also wanted to find companies that pay dividends, and that likely have good financial fundamentals (they are not likely to go bankrupt or out of business anytime soon).

I did just a quick look through some of the stocks and companies that I have traded, heard about, and known of in the past to put together a list of potential investments. I found six stocks that I want to analyze in more detail. Here are the six stocks I want to look at:

F (Ford Motor Company) - Trading at about $10 per share
KHC (The Kraft Heinz Company) - Trading at about $35.25 per share
VZ (Verizon Communications Inc.) - Trading at about $40.40 per share
GM (General Motors Company) - Trading at about $42.55 per share
MAIN (Main Street Capital Corporation) - Trading at about $48.80 per share
HD (The Home Depot, Inc.) - Trading at about $347.00 per share

Now there are plenty of other stocks out there that people might like to invest in, and I am not saying that any of these is the best investment out there. I simply chose some well known stocks that pay dividends and seem like they might fit my investing goals.

My goal with these stocks is to use each one as an example of how I look at investments from top to bottom... how I look at the fundamentals, read the financial numbers, perform my analyses, and look at the technicals I see in the charts.

As a way to help create more in-depth education about how I look at investing, I am going to be creating an investing series starting next week. I am going to walk through each of these six companies looking at potentially investing in each one... and if I decide that I want to invest in some, I will be able to walk thorough how I place my orders, look at my risk and return on investments, and show what these investments look like each week.

If you want to follow my new investing series, then follow the link here to go to my YouTube channel, subscribe, and turn on notifications so you can see when I drop my first investing series video next week!

Thanks, and until next time,

Happy Trading!
