I began learning about stock trading at a live event in 2014 when I was just 12 years old. I took my first trade shortly afterwards, and since then I have learned to love trading and investing. Even though I started so young, it took me about 8 years to learn one of the most important lessons about what stock trading is really about... and since then I have created much more consistent results through my investing and trading.  

The big problem I kept on facing was that I would take a course, trade for a while, and do around 3 to 10 trades, and then I would kind of move on to something else and not make any more trades for a few months. Being so young, I guess I thought that I had all the time in the world, and because I never made a real plan to stay consistent with my trading, I did a lot of trades but it was so scattered and there was never an underlying strategy in place. 

I ended up over the course of those 8 years learning how to do a whole bunch of advanced trading. I thought that my problem was that I didn't know enough and so I kept learning more year after year, but not actually implementing what I had learned often enough to see the results I really wanted. 

The thing about trading and especially investing, is that its not just a get rich quick type of thing or some genie in a bottle that hands out overnight riches and success... While it can quickly create a lot of money for some people, the reality is that's not usually how it works. 

Becoming a successful trader with long-term profitability takes more than just one or two or ten trades. It requires patience, the ability to learn and grow, and the dedication to actually spend time trading. Spending time in front of the charts developing a solid strategy, and then implementing that strategy with a defined plan that you can follow day after day and month after month is the best and most achievable way to actually become a successful trader. After spending a decade leaning this stuff, I am convinced that anyone can become successful with trading if they simply create a good plan and follow it until it works.

​Being successful in the market is not about being a sage or having some magical crystal ball to see the future. In fact, it's not that hard to actually learn how to trade. The ideas and the basics are fairly simple... I began understanding and using them when I was just 12 years old, and I'm not some crazy-smart rocket scientist or financial protege. For me, the real trick was figuring out how to be consistent and creating a plan to actually spend time in the markets.

​The first step for me to becoming consistent was deciding what my goal was... and once I knew that I was committed to being a trader and an investor, then I just had to make a plan to help me make that happen.
