I have been sharing about the importance of fundamental analysis when it comes to investing and trading recently, and yesterday I did my first example analysis on Ford Motor Company. 

Along with talking about the importance of fundamental analysis in the last couple of weeks, I wanted to show how a simple fundamental analysis can be used to help potential investors understand the full picture of a stock they are considering buying. I decided to find a handful of stocks to analyze as potential investments. 

I looked at a handful of fairly well known stocks that pay dividends in a variety of industries to consider investing in with my example account. I settled on these six stocks: 

F (Ford Motor Company) - Trading at about $10 per share
​KHC (The Kraft Heinz Company) - Trading at about $35.25 per share
VZ (Verizon Communications Inc.) - Trading at about $40.40 per share
GM (General Motors Company) - Trading at about $42.55 per share
MAIN (Main Street Capital Corporation) - Trading at about $48.80 per share
HD (The Home Depot, Inc.) - Trading at about $347.00 per share

Since then, I have been talking about the different investing terms and some of the key ratios I look at for my analysis. Yesterday, I began actually doing the analysis, starting with Ford. Here is the video describing my investing process and showing how I make buy orders to enter into the trades I take. 

I enjoyed looking at this analysis and thought it was fun to show how I think about investing in real life in a much more wholistic way. I am going to be continuing my investing series into the next couple of weeks.

​I am going to be working my way down the list one by one and then can compare the stocks side by side and decide which ones I want to invest in and which ones I do not.
